Featured Designer: Mary Ewell of Birch Bark Beads

Okay everyone, you are going to LOVE this!!

This week's featured designer, Mary Ewell, makes beads out of Birch Bark!! How amazing! You can find her work on her Etsy site.

In addition to making beads, Mary is also starting to make jewelry and suncatchers that incorporate birch bark beads.

Mary is from Alpena, Michigan (US) and mentioned she is currently preparing a fine art piece for the Northeast Michigan Artists Juried Exhibition. How exciting!

I love hearing about people who just walk out their front door to find inspiration and pieces of nature to turn into artwork. Here's a link to Mary's blog for even more pics and info! What a treat!

I am in awe!! What do you think?

These beads are genius! I moved away from Michigan (Bay City) 2 years ago, so these remind me of home. Love them.
