Work of Art in a Bead Mix

This is an amazing giant bead! I am hesitant to call it "just" a bead when it resembles more of a work of art!

It is very lightweight, so I'm not sure if it is resin or some other kind of material. It doesn't appear to be glass.

This is the focal gem from the bead mix I found at Joann's over the weekend. I posted some crazy gold puffy pillow beads yesterday and wait till you see the sparklies that are coming tomorrow!

As I post these, I'd love to hear your ideas about them individually and when they've all been posted, I will be doing a bead mix giveaway based on the final comments!! :)

Stay tuned!

It's beautiful and will certainly be an outstanding focal point in any piece. Would love to see what beads you mix with it as the warm earth colors in this focal are amazing.

Is that a faux wood grain? Or just random markings? I hate small pics of beads that have someone's attention... they never do the item justice ;) Either way, I can't wait to see what you decide to do with it!

Lisa is that actually strung on a diagonal? That's freakin awesome! I have an issue with "in-the-box" ideas and this is most definitely and out-of-the-box bead! LOVE it!

Good questions Sandra and Dawn! It does seem to have a faux grain pattern, so I'll have to look a little more closely to figure out what it's made of! AND, yes, it is strung diagonally. :)

I just love colors in that bead. It reminds me of a sunset.
