Intrigued by Bead Netting

Isn't this interesting!? As I mentioned yesterday, I found a $3 bead kit at Big Lots and this is the netting that came with the pale green glass pearls.

I'm amazed there is so much of it and very intrigued to start playing with it.

It seems very crafty and I could really use a good craft to do right about now!

Being able to freely express yourself creatively seems to help keep the flow balanced, sort of like "in with the good air, out with the bad".

I'm not sure how far this material stretches and if I can fit just one bead at a time in the little tunnel. How fun this is going to be to experiment with!!

I like the silvery tint to the netting that will complement the pale green in an interesting way. I greatly enjoy making jewelry for myself that I know will be a conversation piece.

I noticed someone looking at my wrist today and even though I had on the most sparkly piece of jewelry I have ever made (using 140 6mm crystal ab2x swarovski bicones), she didn't comment.

I think it was too pretty and perfect... Maybe it was too expected or maybe she had seen it many times before and it didn't make her squint her eyes and do a double take. People do like that.

So, maybe that's my next jewelry making mission...dare to be different! :)

If you have any cool netting ideas or experiences with this material, please share!!

I really love how you keep your eyes peeled for great finds. That inspires me Lisa! And makes me thank my lucky stars that I am the consummate bargain shopper. I find things all over the place, it doesn't always have to be expensive or even meant for jewelry to jazz me up. I think it is all in how you use it. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with this...I think I may have something similar someplace from Big Lots! Enjoy the day! Erin

Funnily enough Lisa, I bought a sample pack of wire netting and had completely forgotten about it so thanks for the reminder!

Btw, I eventually got your book the other day, it took soo long but it was well worth the wait. The projects are inspiring, photographs stunning and best of all I have enough of the necessary beads to get started. Thank you for a wonderful publication.

I totally agree with you about expressing yourself creatively. Keeps me sane! I will have to check out Big Lots sometime. Never thought they had craft supplies!

Bead netting--I need to experiment! You get my creative juices flowing when I think they are all dried up!

I guess I am going to have to break down and go to Big Lots and check this out. It is one store I don't got to. However, there is one here in Florence. My question is what is the netting made of?

Big Lots is a fun place for unexpected finds! I found a huge stash of Micro Machines there once that thrilled my son(s) for years!

Another place to find good stuff -- vintage that is, is Goodwill or the Salvation Army! I've found HUGE strands of amethyst worth big bucks there, as well as other vintage pearls and great things to cut apart and use as "found" objects. Never know where the next biggest find is coming from!

I'm just curious enough about that netting to make a trip to Big Lots later! Glad I popped in to catch up on you latest posts.
