I have an exciting newsflash from the "A Bead in Time" homefront...
A crafty friend of mine sent me a text message on Tuesday from Michael's Craft Store that went something like this: "I'm standing in Michael's admiring your book Lisa!"
Wow! My heart made a pretty huge leap when I read that!! I have been hoping it would make it to the craft stores at some point and was SO EXCITED to find out it did!! YAY!
Being a craft store "regular", many of the beads, pieces and parts in the book came from a craft store! One of last projects I did for the book was created during the last two weeks before the photo shoot.
I had decided to walk through town with the camera looking for interesting architectural details that I could use as inspiration for a piece of jewelry.
This is one of the photos I decided on, so I downloaded it and sent it over to Walgreens to print in an hour, picked up the pics and headed to Michael's. Within just a few minutes, I found these beads.... It was like the planets aligned! :)
Thanks so much for sharing this with me!!!

Congratulations! That's fantastic!
I squealed when I read that! That is so awesome!
Can I have your autograph:)
Yay! Congratulations. Love the book!
YAY! I love your book!
I also love looking at architecture to find interesting shapes for wire work as well. Inspiration comes from so many sources :D
Congratulations!!!!!!
very inspiring!
Great....now I need to be on the lookout for architectural ideas for wire wrapping in addition to scenes for my watercolor paintings! I keep a small digital camera in my purse so I can shoot whenever anything strikes me so I will add this to my list of what to watch for.
If you haunt craft stores, you need to add Harbor Freight to your haunting list for tons of hardware items that are great in wired jewelry, too! I have bought all sorts of hammers, jewelry tools, copper washers, polishing supplies, etc. there....and, NO, I don't get paid for that endorsement, nor do I even own stock in their company! I just love hardware stores and this one is on the top of my list. I know, I am weird, but I am okay with that.
Ahhh, my sister the author! So very proud of you! Can't wait to see it for myself next time I am in Michael's!
I can only imagine how incredible that must feel Lisa! Way to go!
Hi Lisa. This is your very proud Mother. I am going to make a special trip to Michaels just to stare at your book, and pick it up and look at it as I have done many times at home, as I have it on my coffee table, along with the May issue of Bead Trends which has your article about my Mother, your Grandma and the bracelet you made representing the quilt she made you as a child. It is so exciting. Love you,MOM
