Arts & Crafts Week: Wooden Embellishments

I believe this wooden embellishment is intended to be used on a wood craft project or as the corner piece to wood moulding.

However, when I saw these at the craft store, I immediately thought it would be cool to try drilling holes in each corner and hooking them together with chain of some kind.

I thought it would make an interesting necklace, sort of close to the neck with the chains drooping in between each piece.

I used a gold leaf pen and a bronze pen on a couple of them just to see what they looked like and that was as far as I actually got with this project.

If you have any cool ideas, please let me know!

I think I actually have some of these things somewhere - the potential factor you know. I can't remember what I picked them up for, but I LOVE this idea. I'm going to try it too! (forgive the copyness) Thanks Lisa:D

They would also look cool made into pendants. Drill one hole into the top corner and several into the two bottom edges and decorate the bottom edges with beads strung on head pins. Or add some wired spirals to the bottom.

your ideas blow me away. this is a great idea for a focal. you can stain and varnish them and they would match or compliment any piece.

perfect!!

I love these--I can see them used as jewelry ensembles: earrings, necklace, bracelets. Too pretty!
