Crafting...the definition

I had the fun and privilege of joining some friends for a girl's Saturday craft-nite, which was very inspiring!

We didn't make jewelry or other handicrafts, BUT according to the definition of "craft", planting herb gardens and learning how to cook with them qualifies!

"craft" - skill in doing or making something. an occupation or trade requiring manual dexterity or skilled artistry.

After each of us made this lovely mess, we proceeded to make an even bigger mess in the kitchen. We made a breadcrumb mixture in the food processor that included many of the herbs we had planted and created a lovely eggplant dish.

I know it's not jewelry, but wanted to share a different kind of craft for a change! Hope you are all having a great weekend!

What a great craft party!

I'm going to share one of my favorite recipes with you. Cut a small loaf of Italian bread or baguette in half, lengthwise. Sautee some garlic and olive oil in a frying pan, then dip each of the bread halves face down into it.

Then load the halves with fresh basil and rosemary, put the loaf back together, cover in tinfoil, and broil for about 10 or 15 minutes. It's insanely good! :)

Thank you so much, that sounds really EASY and yummy! My two pre-requisites along with being meat-free. Yay! Can't wait to try it now that I have home-grown herbs!

What a "tasty" post! I love cooking with fresh herbs and I can't wait for spring to come and take the first herbs from the garden.
