Making Ornaments out of Beads

Hey everyone! I need your help... I was asked to create a holiday ornament for someone today that can be taken to an ornament exchange party on Friday!

Yikes! I'm guessing I was asked so I would make something using beads...

ANY IDEAS?!!

One idea that is not original, but it is a good one, is using about 4 or 5 loops of memory wire with a large/heavy bead on the bottom so when it is hung, all the loops seperate.

Maybe I could use this long orange CZ as the dangle, but I'm not sure it will be heavy enough...

The other idea I have is to create a simple dangle with 6 to 8 beautifully sparkly beads from large to small, packaging it in a nice organza bag with a matching pair of earrings. If I use the orange CZ above, I could use these smaller orange CZ's for the earrings...

Help!! Sorry for the short notice, but I GREATLY appreciate it! :)

I think your last idea is a winner. I'd love to get something like that in an ornament exchange, especially with a pair of earrings.

It's a great idea to make an ornament that sparkles--it will really catch the lights on the tree.

I made a wire Christmas tree you might have interest to see.

Do you have any beads that qualify as wings? Like daggers or hearts or even drops? You could use them for angels wings and put the beads on a headpin to make little angel ornaments. Another idea is a wirewoven star. Use faux beads and maybe some crystal accent beads. There are lots of patterns available online.
You could also decorate the ball-shaped glass/plastic ornaments you can buy: use tacky tape to "glue" the beads to them; use flatbacks and glue them onto the surface; or glitter; make a beaded or corcheted net to put over the ornament.
Uhm, what else? If you can get those dividable blank christmas ornaments, you can decorate them on the inside and add a beaded dangle.
Need more ideas? :-)

I like your idea with a memory wire, but instead of the plain wire I would string it all through with sparkly beads, they could be green, or colorless crystal, then you have a sparkly spiral with your red/orange large bead at the bottom. Easy and simple. Happy Holidays!

What Regina said! I do like the idea of the memory wire with sparkly beads along the wire spirals. The red beads are super!

I made a few "Snowflakes" as ornaments... start with a pearl center and do a circle brick stitch for several rounds. At the end, I used small quartz nuggets to add some sparkle and texture. They were quick to do and turned out great! :)

I can't wait to see what you decide to do Lisa! I know whatever you choose, it's going to be amazing... because YOU my dear are amazing! Have a wonderful day!
